Andrew McLoad's 060 design began with his decision to switch from paint to felt pens, giving his abstract composition a sketch-like quality. The overlapping ink forms a distinctive, spontaneous color texture on the paper. Translating these textures into textiles adds complexity for the rugmaker and yarn dyers. Ultimately, the completed 060 rug beautifully preserves the subtleties of the artist's colorful pen work, making it an ideal addition to interiors that emphasize natural materials."
