Night Fishing-Lake Waihora - SOLD
A composition of brown trout
Bing Dawe
Dilana was fortunate to have Bing Dawe as a founding artist in its collection. In the early to mid-80s, Dawe's collaboration introduced primarily black-on-white compositions that included relief and textures.
As in his sculptural pieces, he demonstrates his ability to master and work materials. In this case, the woollen textile and the rug maker's process. By 2000, Bing Dawe transitioned into creating soft, subtle, and directional colour blends, achieving an effortless look through his understanding of the tufting technique. His designs seamlessly complemented the medium, presenting overall compositions as elegant horizontal floor coverings.
