Never confined to one medium, Robyn has worked for many years in the fine arts, while weaving with Harakeke and other fibres experimentally since the 1980s. A consistent thread through all her work is her love for the environment and a deep concern with our place within it. Drawing on diverse media — film, paint, ink, plastics, harakeke, nīkau, Resin, and bronze — she explores how people connect with the earth and with each other, weaving these threads together in search of a unique yet universal expression.
Her pieces often carry the imprint of nature — leaf, fibre, and form — revealing an ongoing dialogue between land, material, and memory. Whether through woven sculpture, resin casting, or print, she transforms organic structure into quiet geometry and shadow.
Robyn’s collaboration with Dilana extends this conversation into wool — translating her language of texture and movement into hand-crafted rugs that honour process, place, and the beauty of imperfection.
